The Moscow City Court left Nikita Belykh under arrest

The Moscow City Court rejected the complaint of the Kirov governor Nikita Belykh for detention, reports . the Dozhd TV channel

Belykh insisted that the Basmanny court, which made the arrest decision, did not take into account all the circumstances of the case. The governor's lawyers again said that their client was not going to hide from the investigation and was ready to cooperate.

Representatives of Nikita Belykh asked to be released on bail in the amount of 28 million rubles, indicating that his friends were ready to raise this amount.

According to Dozhd, Belykh denied guilt and appealed to residents of the Kirov region. “I have many shortcomings, but I’m definitely not a bribe-taker or a corrupt official, I’m an honest person and a decent official. I am interested in having my good name confirmed through judicial review,” the governor said. He complained about the lack of qualified legal assistance and said that he had been diagnosed with diabetes.

At a meeting to determine the preventive measure in the Basmanny Court on June 24, Belykh said that he had undergone a course of treatment and did not know for sure whether he had diabetes.

The editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, Alexey Venediktov, wrote on Twitter that he, along with the leader of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky and journalist Yuri Kobaladze, vouched for Belykh before the trial.

The Kirov governor is accused of receiving a bribe in the amount of 400 thousand euros, that is, on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). Five days after his arrest, on June 29, Belykh went on a hunger strike to protest the charges against him.
