Suspended bridge

The beginning of the temporary operation of the railway line on the bridge to the annexed Crimea through the Kerch Strait was postponed for almost a year. The corresponding order of the government of July 5, signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, was published on Thursday on the official portal of legal information.

The document makes an amendment to the disposal published in January 2015. Then it was planned to launch a railway line on the bridge simultaneously with the opening of the road movement - December 18, 2018. Now, the beginning of the operation of the railway was postponed on December 1, 2019.

At the same time, the opening period of the automobile traffic on the bridge remains the same.

In addition, the construction of the Kerch bridge is transferred to the treasury support with a new order. As explains RBC, this step will allow the state to directly control the expense of funds issued for the implementation of the project.

In early June, it became known that construction financing was suspended . The last time the contractor, the company "Stroygazmontazh" oligarch Arkady Rotenberg - was transferred in December 2015, and the payment of 65.4 billion rubles, planned for 2016, was due to the prolonged bureaucratic procedure.

The issue of paying for the work of the Ministry of Transport and Rosavtodor cannot solve the month of February, said the general director of the contractor Andrei Kirilenko. “The construction of the facility has developed an extremely critical situation,” he assured.
