The Commissioner for Human Rights in Sevastopol Pavel Butsai said that he did not talk about the seizure of the ship with Russian citizens on board, TASS reports .
“I didn't say that. We are talking about the situation with the Temeteron tanker, which was not captured, but was detained on the night of June 28-29 by the coastal guard of Libya in 17-18 naval miles from the coast. The crew was charged with transporting smuggling, ”Butsai said.
The wife of the captain of the ship, who is from Sevastopol, spoke about the Ombudsman. According to her, the tanker was decorated to the military port of Tripoli, and the crew was transferred to the Maitga Air Force base.
“After receiving information about the detention of the crew, relatives began to contact the diplomatic representation of the Russian Federation in Libya, which operates temporarily in Tunisia. At the moment, consular assistance has not been provided. There is a high probability that they were detained by opposition forces, then they will not go to a meeting with any consulate, ”said the Commissioner for Human Rights in Sevastopol.
Earlier, the media reported with reference to Butsay that the Greek vessel of Panomaris with three Russian citizens on board had captured the coast of Libya. In addition to Russians, there were five citizens of Ukraine and one Greek subject on board.
