FAS threatened with checks for the growth of tariffs according to the "Spring Law"

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia promised to check how justified the growth of tariffs for mobile operators will be after adopting a package of anti -terrorism laws prepared by State Duma deputy Irina Yarova and Senator Viktor Ozerov. About this RIA Novosti was told by the head of the Department of Communications and Information Technologies FAS Elena Zaeva.

“If there is an increase in prices with the justification of the“ implementation of the “anti -terrorist package” ”, the FAS Russia will check the validity of such an increase in accordance with the requirements of antimonopoly legislation. In particular, the agency will check whether the increase in the price of communication services is consistent with the actual increase in the expenses of operators, ”Zaeva said.

At the same time, the FAS representative emphasized that mobile operators will probably have to carry out “certain investments in the acquisition of software and hardware,” but Zaeva could not determine the size of these investments.

Earlier on June 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a package of “anti -terrorist” bills. Putin also entrusted the FSB and the Government of the Russian Federation in the development of regulatory legal acts to pay special attention to the application of "norms that will require significant financial costs."

After signing the law, the shares of mobile operators on the Moscow Exchange fell .

Even before the signing of bills, mobile operators evaluated the costs of implementing Yarovoy laws at several trillion rubles and warned that in case of adoption of laws, tariffs for cellular services can grow 2-3 times. Meanwhile, the head of the Ministry of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov said on July 7 that there would be no increase in cellular tariffs due to the adoption of new laws.
