According to the agency, on these sites, protest promotions were also coordinated in violation of the established procedure.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office also noted the possibility of “immediate response” to notifications, but specific terms were not registered in the instructions. Now the document stipulates that, if necessary, the verification materials “immediately using operational communications” are sent to the Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office in federal districts, which “should prepare requirements for restrictions on access to resources within five days, and“ in cases that do not tolerate resources, immediately ”.

Information materials that "have or may have a wide public outcry" should be suppressed immediately. Moreover, sites that “copy information from an extremist orientation or calls for riots” are also subject to blocking.

Amendments to the Law "On Information, Information Technologies and the Protection of Information", which give the Prosecutor General the right to block unlawful information on the Internet, entered into force on February 1, 2014.
