
The FSB Office Office re -checks the economic security service of the department (SEB), RBC reports with reference to sources in the special service. The check began in June and should be completed by July 15.
According to retired, Major General of the FSB, a member of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy Alexander Mikhailov, the economic security service is one of the key departments of the FSB. The meaning of the SEB has increased markedly in recent years.
According to one of the sources of RBC, the most attention of the inspectors is concentrated on two divisions in the structure of the SEB, the "P" and "T" departments. They are engaged in industry and transport, respectively. Earlier, Rosbalt reported that the leaders of these departments wrote a resignation statement. The source of the publication claimed that relations with the USB had aggravated among the heads of units.
The first check of the SEB ended on May 25. On June 3, it became known that the head of the department “K” Viktor Voronin resigned in connection with the criminal case of smuggling. The witness in the case is the head of the 7th department of the department Vadim Uvarov, and the defendant is the latter’s own - the former operative of the Main Directorate for Combating the Responsult of the Federal Customs Service Pavel Smalychuk. At the same time, there are statements in the case, which states that Uvarov himself is involved in smuggling.
The initiator of the initiation of the case was the head of the Office of the FSB, Lieutenant General Sergei Korolev.
On June 8, it was reported that the head of the Economic Security Service Yuri Yakovlev was retired . However, he refused to leave. Soon after, the USB officers again came with an audit of his subordinates. According to the sources of RBC, in the event of Yakovlev’s resignation, Korolev will be appointed in his place.
