In India, the illegally built shopping center was demolished without evacuation. As a result, at least four people died, there is a rescue operation. Hindustan Times reports that six more people can be under the rubble.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the city of Merath (MIRIT) in the North Indian state of Uttar-Pradesh. The four -story shopping center was subject to demolition in accordance with the decision of the local court.

However, as RIA Novosti notes, the authorities did not take the proper measures to make sure that the building was evacuated. Relatives of the victims have already submitted applications to the police.

The representative of the local council Piyush Gautam at the same time denies that the authorities did not take enough measures to avoid victims. He indicated that demolition was originally appointed at 03:00 and the authorities sent notifications that by this time the building should be released. Gautams indicated that the authorities gave additional three hours to evacuate and began demolition only at 6 in the morning.
