The Department of Culture of Omsk tore off the production at the City Lyceum Theater of the performance based on the play by the Austrian writer Arthur Schitzler "Dance" (1896-1897). This was reported on Friday by "Omsk here."
The premiere in the theater, the founder of which is the Department of Culture, was to be held on July 8. The Polish director Peter Schalsh, who previously worked both in his homeland and in Austria, Germany and Israel, prepared his production for Omsk for the 300th anniversary of Omsk. In Siberia, the play was stated for the first time.
However, a few days before the premiere, it became known that it was transferred to the fall. The theater was officially named by the disease of actor Nikolai Pushkarev, who performs one of the main roles in the production.
Meanwhile, the publication noted, workers of the theater on the basis of anonymity, emphasizing that they were afraid of dismissal, said that the prime minister was disrupted after entering the theater and the Department of Culture of a letter of protest from the Omsk diocese.
The diocese itself has not officially confirmed their intervention in the work of the theater. Meanwhile, the director of the Department of Culture Vladimir Shalak, commenting on the disruption of the production, said: "Or do you want the repetition of the" tangiazer "? We are easier to close today than to thunder tomorrow."
The official also did not exclude that the performance will not be shown in Omsk at all.
"Round dance", one of the most popular plays by Schenitzler, was considered obscene at one time, and performances in it were prohibited in the West. However, after the Second World War, the play is unhindered in the best theaters in Europe. In addition, as the director Schalsh noted, the "round dance" was filled at least five times.
At the same time, unlike the Tannhaiser, which was delivered at the end of 2014 at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater by director Timofei Kulyabin, the religious theme is not addressed in the play of Schitnler and the production of shalshi.
The reaction of the Russian Orthodox Church to the production of Kulyabin caused a scandal. In the performance of Richard Wagner, the action was transferred to modernity, and the tanneser appears in the image of a brilliant director who made the film "Grotto of Venus" about the unknown, sinful life of Jesus Christ in his youth.
In January 2015, the Metropolitan of Novosibirsk and Berdsky Tikhon complained about the production of the prosecutor's office. The clergy also asked the FSB, the TFR and the Prosecutor General’s Office to check the Tangaiser to insult the feelings of believers.
On February 25, 2015, the Investigative Committee began a pre-investigation verification for the presence of an article 282 of the Criminal Code in the formulation of composition (excitement of hatred or enmity). Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s office aroused the case against Kulyabin and the director of the theater Boris Mezdrich under Part 2 of Article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (intentional public desecration of religious veneration objects).
However, the justice of the peaceacquitted Kulyabin and Mezdrich . The district court confirmed these decisions . In April, the Investigative Committee refused to initiate the case against Kulyabin and Mezdrich.
Meanwhile, on March 29, 2015 , the head of the Ministry of Culture Vladimir Medinsky fired Mezdrich . Vladimir Kekhman, appointed in his place, excluded the Tannheiser from the repertoire.
