The initiation of the case against the head of the "women of the Don" Cherevatenko is recognized as legitimate

The Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don recognized the excitement against the head of the Don Woman Union and the Valentina Cherevatenko Foundation under Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code (malicious evasion assigned to a foreign agent). The initiation of the case against Cherevatenko became known on June 28 . This is the first case of persecution under Article 330.1 - one of the norms of legislation on "agents", adopted in November 2012. The social activist faces up to two years in the colony.

According to the plot of the case, in 2013, Cherevatenko, anticipating that the Women of Don’s union recognized the “foreign agent”, formed the fund of the same name in order to circumvent the legislation on “agents”. In June 2014, the Union "Women Don" was forcibly included in the appropriate register. The Union of "Women of the Don" has been operating since 1993 in Novocherkassk. He is engaged in the legal education of the population, as well as the protection of the rights of conscripts and personnel military. NPOs was forcibly included in the register of "agents" in June 2014 , becoming one of the five organizations that were the first to fall into this list. The Don Women Foundation was forcibly included in the register in October 2015.

Both NCOs appealed the decisions made, but to no avail. In April 2016, however, the Union of “Women Don” was expelled from the Agents Register, since he did not receive foreign financing during the year.
