The Service Administration also stated that some of the Private Internet Access servers in the country "were recently captured by the Russian authorities" without prior notice and bypassing any legal procedures. "We immediately stopped the work of our locks in Russia," the report said.

The company assured that the authorities did not receive access to customers.

The package of the "Laws of Yarova", sharply tightening the "anti -terrorism" legislation, Vladimir Putin signed on July 7. One of the laws of the package obliges the telecom operators to store information on the activity of users during the year (for instant messengers and social networks) and three years (for other services and operators), and messages and other content, including video, within six months.
