SELECTOR PRO Musical Forum will be held in Moscow

From July 21 to July 23, the SELECTOR PRO Musical Forum, organized by the British Council and the Media Institute, Architecture and Design Strelka, will collect in Moscow to exchange experience and meet the new trends of British and Russian professionals and lovers of music.

Selector Pro 2016 will be held on the territory of the Strelka Institute. Famous British and Russian artists, journalists, critics, producers, promoters and directors will take part in the forum. Lecturers will tell guests about the specifics of the work of leading labels, concert venues and festivals, the new channels of music consumption and the future of letters of recommendation, as well as remember the history of the emergence of a punk movement, which this year celebrates its 40th birthday and talk about why music still lives the past.

Among the guests of the Selector Pro 2016 rock musician, producer and one of the main researchers of Pank, the author of the bestseller “Punk Rock: an Oral History” John Robb, journalist and theorist of pop culture, author of the book “Ramania: Pop Pop Plenum of the Past” Simon Reynolds, musical director Roundhouse Jane Biz, Moshi Moshi Moshi Records label manager Rachel Makuinni, Radi-Dijei, former ITUNES and Google Play musician Nick Lakomb and young electronic musician William Doyle.

It will be shown a documentary about the BEAT FILM Festival on the BEAT FILM Festival about the Cross Father Trip-Hop and the founder of the Unkle Group James Lavelle “The Man from Mo'wax” , which will be presented by the film by Matthew Jones.

One of the main events of the forum will be the premiere of Mix The City - an interactive platform for creating soundtracks dedicated to the cultural capitals of the world. The site allows users to make their own mix from Moscow sounds based on tracks recorded by twelve musicians, including Yuri Bashmet, Oleg Nesterov, Pixielord and the Naada group. The Mix The City project has already been implemented in Tel Aviv, Istanbul and the Balkans. His curators in Moscow will be British producers and performers Joseph Goddard from the Hot Chip and Rafael Rawdell group from The 2 BEARS .

The forum will end on July 23 in the Arrow's courtyard with a concert of Selector Live , at which the Russian premiere of the audiovisual project “Momentum” created by Actress , together with London Contemporary Orchestra and the produced Boiler Room . The concert will continue the performance of the DJ Duet The 2 BEARS .
