Lawyer Igor Trunov will be deprived of his status. As Interfax reports , such a decision was made by the qualification commission of the Law Chamber of the Moscow Region. The reason for the decision was "the presence of a disciplinary offense in Trunov’s actions."

“The decision to deprive me of the lawyer status was made yesterday, July 12. It should still be confirmed by the Council of the Law Chamber of the Moscow Region, but I have no illusions, both of these bodies are headed by the same person,” Trunov himself said. According to him, "the basis was a collective complaint of dissatisfied lawyers."

Dissatisfaction, Trunov noted, caused his speech at a press conference, which supposedly deterses the authority of the advocacy and causes damage. “The essence of my statements is that there are corruption in the ranks of the advocacy, there are“ nesun lawyers ”who are intermediaries between law enforcement agencies and unscrupulous customers,” the defender said.

"Professional activities affect the financial interests of large insurance companies that do not want to pay insurance compensation in full, unscrupulous business owners and civil servants violating the law," Trunov explained in a statement published on his website.

According to him, he counts on a court appeal. “Although the courts try not to intervene in the internal affairs of the bar, the prospect of the deplorable. The ECHR is the only instance that can consider something, but the procedure is long,” he said.
