In St. Petersburg, the builders of the Zenit Arena stadium blocked the entrances and exits from the construction site in protest against salary delays. It is reported by "Fontanka".
The publication reported that the workers also blocked a car belonging to the management of the general contractor for the construction, Inzhtransstroy-SPb. The riot police arrived at the scene.
According to Interfax , Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Igor Albin arrived at the construction site. After talking with him, the workers stopped the protest. Fontanka reported that an employee of the prosecutor's office also spoke with the protesters.
Albin said that the prosecutor's office will check the information about delays in wages. According to him, information about delays comes to the authorities regularly, but contractors can be held liable if payments are not made within three months.
“The inexplicable greed of the general contracting organization provoked command and staff exercises. Here we have them today. We must be ready for any development of events, especially since the World Cup in France showed that such readiness must be constant,” Igor Albin joked.
