The Amaq news agency, associated with the Islamic State (an organization banned in the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization), reported the death of one of the most influential field commanders of the group, Abu Umar al-Shishani (Tarkhan Batirashvili). It is reported by Reuters.

According to the report, al-Shishani died in Iraq, during a battle in the city of Shergat, which is under the control of ISIS. When this happened is not reported. In early July, the Iraqi authorities announced that the Iraqi army was 10 kilometers from Shergat.
