In almost half of Russians, state medicine causes only distrust and fear, and there is not enough money to go to a private doctor. The only alternative in such a situation may be a return to the traditional, “grandfather” treatment methods. Pain. Fear. Hunger. Hypothermia. What are the Russians ready to go to in order to improve their health without seeing a doctor
What to endure
Swimming in ice water. Bathing in the hole is a rather popular way to strengthen immunity in Russians and get rid of colds. Doctors confirm that the activity of winter swimming tempers the body, and many walruses do not stop there and assure that it helped them cure a chronic disease (for example, from asthma, bronchitis or even cancer at an early stage). Some of them, however, sadly admit that it was worth stopping them to praise, the ailments returned.

The well -known propagandist of hardening ice water in the post -Soviet space was Porfiry Ivanov, the “god of walruses”, a former miner with the formation of four elementary school classes, who created his own unique system of achieving health and immortality. Ivanov, in principle, never turned to the doctors, in winter and in the summer he went in his underpants, was doused with icy well water twice a day. Inspired by his teaching, some especially impressionable parents begin to pour their children with cold water, which doctors categorically do not advise. The vast majority of Russian walruses are not so radical and advise you to start hardening gradually, with wiping cold water, and then go to dousing and bathing.
How it will end
The common consequence of regular hypothermia is prostatitis and impotence in men or diseases of childbearing organs in women. A sharp hypothermia causes a serious heart load. For people suffering from cardiovascular, bronchial diseases and thyroid diseases, winter swimming is absolutely contraindicated, no matter how “walruses” themselves were confident in the opposite. In no case should you engage in walrus and people suffering from diseases that cause sudden attacks.
What to endure
Wearing barbed clothes. “The habitat of dogs in the process of life allows them to accumulate biologically active substances in wool, which, when wearing a corset or belt, can penetrate the human body, neutralizing negative charges inside it,” - this unintelligible phrase is repeated as a carpet on several dozen sites selling “dog clothes”, and some Russians really believe in this. It is believed that a belt of dog wool helps to recover from diseases of the kidneys and spine, as well as osteochondrosis and radiculitis. The dog hat cures migraines, socks soften the pain in the legs, the scarf saves from the sore throat, and the mittens are useful for pain in the joints.

“Dogs do not experience discomfort when they are trimmed,” they warn future customers in one of the stores of dog wool products, but you can’t say this about the buyers themselves. For a better healing effect, you need to put on clothes on a naked body, if it is pricking, you will have to endure. The thicker and rude yarn, the greater the “supply of energy” it carries in itself.
How it will end
Dog wool is safe for everyone except allergies. The main thing is not to perceive this method of treatment as a panacea and remember that, for example, migraine can be a symptom of a brain tumor, from which no hat in the world will save a person.
What to endure
Bee bites. Treatment with beekeeping - the choice of real masochists. In order to get rid of, for example, from chronic prostatitis, people are ready to endure bee bites in the foreskin. Apitherapist (Apitherapy is one of the varieties of alternative medicine, which uses living bees and beekeeping products) puts the insect to the most sore spot or near the affected organ, or to the so -called “biologically active point”. Supporters of this method of treatment, like apologists of acupuncture, are convinced of the existence of tiny areas on the human body, stimulating which can be cured of different diseases - from thrombophlebitis to multiple sclerosis. Starting with one bee bite, the apitherapist gradually increases the number of bees to ten, the course of treatment is designed for two months. The place of each bite can swell and hurt for several days.

“The place of the bite hurt about 40 minutes, burned with fire, after a couple of hours a rather big such infiltrate formed, with itching, redness, local temperature raising,” says Svetlana Kucher, creator of the Alternative Medicine: Health and Beauty without Cure, describes his feelings from the unsuccessful visit of the Apitherapist. - I courageously waited for three days until the reaction slid to nothing, and again came to beeled. Looking at the trail of the bite, my beekeeper shook his head and said that today he will also put only one bee and hold a sting in the body for a minute. This minute was enough for me so that my leg was smashed almost twice in diameter, and in the evening a general temperature reaction appeared. ”
How it will end
In small doses, bee venom, as a rule, is not dangerous to human health, but in 2% of people it causes an allergic reaction that can lead to anaphylactic shock and death. None of the apitherapy techniques have confirmation from the point of view of evidence -based medicine.
What to endure
Real horror. The most common way of coding from alcoholism is an intravenous injection of a substance, from which the patient begins to shake or throws into severe heat. Having brought the patient to life, the narcologist convinces him that he introduced him a drug that would be stored in the body throughout the year. He drink at least a drop of alcohol during this time, the nightmarish sensations will be repeated, and he can even die if the ambulance does not make his time on time. In fact, substances that could be excreted from the body with intravenous administration for more than a few days, practically do not exist in nature, but the patient does not suspect this for the time being. There are other methods of coding: hypnosis, laser irradiation. All of them are based on the placebo effect. Some narcologists in Russia and post -Soviet countries believe that a person can be cured of alcohol, narcotic or nicotine dependence on one session, inspiring him with the strongest fear of death .

The inventor of coding, Soviet narcologist Alexander Dovzhenko, sprayed the patients with chloroetil, causing vomiting, and spoke a sonorous voice of a professional hypnotist: “I give you an installation ...” The essence of the method was to create a negative conditional reflex to alcohol. It would be azed that a person can be deceived only once, but on the forums devoted to the treatment of alcoholism, there are enough unfortunate people who were encoded several times. Crossing the charlatans, whom they are forced to give a lot of money for the “treatment”, these people retain the faith that one day they will meet a real doctor. The very one that scares them so much that the hand will never reach the bottle again.
How it will end
Bings down is a common consequence of unsuccessful coding. After waiting a couple of weeks, a person who continues to suffer depends on a sip of alcohol, understands that nothing happened to him, and returns to drunkenness with renewed vigor. The consequences of the “ruin” for the patient himself and his loved ones can be absolutely unpredictable. There is no scientific confirmation of the effectiveness of coding.
What to endure
Refusal of food. There are classic, dry (when the patient refuses both food and water) and urine starvation. The writer and TV presenter Gennady Malakhov calls the latter “the crown of all hunger”. He recommends that it refrain from food for three days or a week, but drink the urine secreted. If you rub the urine into the body during massage and put enemas with evaporated urine, the therapeutic effect of this practice will be even more powerful. By abandoning food, you can cure almost any disease, except for AIDS, explain on the site “Starvation for Beginners”. But it doesn’t matter: the body strengthened after a hunger strike will defeat AIDS on its own. The duration of classic starvation can be up to 30-40 or more than a day.

Belief in the healing force of starvation is based on a pseudoc -scientific theory about the existence of toxins - harmful substances that supposedly accumulate in the body and spoil health, so they must be removed. When starving according to the methodology of Alexei Suvorin, slag should be transformed into white pus and go out of his mouth. In other starving, slags come out with stones from the gallbladder. According to the Russian physiologist Rinad Minvaleev, all the dirt that comes out of the “cleansed” body among supporters of the refusal of nutrition is formed in them as a result of a hungry shock.
How it will end
For patients with diabetes, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and some other diseases, “therapeutic” starvation will most likely be fatal. In the starving, immunity falls and anemia develops. Returning to the usual diet, they quickly gain excess weight: the body recovering from a hunger strike will begin to gain extra calories literally “from the air”.
What to endure
Manipulations with a biofield. Supporters of this method believe that electromagnetic waves are a panacea. The fact is that each human organ generates electromagnetic radiation, and in the case of pathology, its level deviates from normal. In order to recover, it is enough to influence the organ with electromagnetic fluctuations of the desired amplitude using the BRT therapy apparatus until it is resonant with it.

“I was treated” for two years, coming to this office once a month, ” Mikhail Loktev is indignant on the website of the missionary project“ To Truth ”. - They explained to me that this was quite enough, and the doctor’s download was large, there was no end to customers. “Treatment” took place on the equipment of “Imledis” using “electromagnetic waves”, which, according to the version of the High-Tech doors, “stimulated the internal forces of sick organs and destroyed harmful parasites,” if any. Then I was recommended to buy an apparatus for additional home treatment to speed up the effect. And I began to "be treated" at home. My hypertension did not go from the “treatment”, but the pressure ... rose after each (!) Treatment on the instruments. To this, the doctor said that "eliminates my internal diseases in layers," and I simply do not feel some diseases, but they are (like "parasites" in the body). "
How it will end
The harm of electromagnetic radiation is no less exaggerated than its benefits. BRT-therapy devices are expensive and absolutely useless toys: 35 thousand rubles for the biomedis apparatus on the Android platform and almost 17 thousand for the device for color and light exposure “Svetoch”, similar to ordinary sunglasses. These devices are most reminiscent of an electrometer: a modified galvanometer, which hoinconists use for charlatan purposes to “register” the mass and energy of severe images in the human mind, and sell more than seven thousand euros at the cost of the apparatus of 100.

47% of Russians will not consult a doctor, sick with a not too serious illness. Such conclusions were experts from the Center for Sociological Research of the RANEPA during a survey according to the Eurobarometer methodology for monitoring social, economic and political values, attitudes and practices of the Russian Federation in 2014. They will prefer self -medication, a call to a specialist to a specialist to a friend, or the search for a medicine on the Internet. The probable reason for this is the specifics of trust in Russian society. A significant part of the Russians is inclined by default with distrust of official institutions and their impersonal representatives (one of whom is an unfamiliar doctor in the district clinic) and with high confidence to perceive the words of their friends. Faced with a more serious illness, the respondents would prefer treatment in a private clinic, but few can afford it. Apparently, therefore, the Russians' answers to the question of sociologists “What will you do if you get sick?” Were imbued with such fatalism: “I won’t turn anywhere because we have nothing, to contact anyone”, “I won’t contact the doctors”, “I’m scared to use these services”, “I will pray” and even “remains only to hang”.
Doctor of Philology Konstantin Bogdanov, author of the book “Doctors, Patients, readers. The pathographic texts of Russian culture of the XVIII -XIX centuries, ”believes that the process of losing confidence in official medicine in Russia has been going on for a long time, and the countdown here needs to be carried out from the first perestroika years:
“These years became the beginning of the industry, in which the emergence of new miraculous healers was accompanied by the expansion of the Paramedician services market. Mass psychosis associated with hopes for the healers-artisans (recall at least Kashpirovsky and Chumak) and various practices of psychic healing, was fed by the spread of new religious movements in Russia, whose preachers also appealed not to traditional, but to “folk” or alternative medicine-from uriner-therapy and starvation to the manipulations of magical magic character. Interest in alternative healing practices is habitually observed in an atmosphere of hopes for the irrational change in the situation for the better, which are characteristic of the times of ideological and economic crises. The point here is not in the archaization of consciousness, but in a change in the nature of social trust, which in these cases is determined, on the one hand, by the urgency of treatment, the recognition of its own disease, and on the other hand, the conviction that traditional scientific medicine cannot cope with this disease. At one time, the sociologist Tolkott Parsons wrote that the patient becomes sick not when he hurts something, and when he is ready to become a patient, to be medicated, to assume the “role of the patient”. And these roles today are more difficult than once: someone goes to the clinic, and someone to a psychic.
It should be borne in mind that the history of medicine in Russia is the history of various medical. Until the reforms of the 1870s, the foundations of zemstvos and the organization of zemstvo medicine were treated by Russian peasants-with grandson-conspiracies, prayers, decoctions and lotions. In cities, medicine is affirmed thanks to the efforts of the government, which continued in this regard, Peter beginnings. But here, the perception of medicine did not do without drama, and sometimes tragedies-it is enough to recall the cholera riots that have taken place in domestic history from 1831 and until the 1910s. Their victims were many doctors fighting the disease, but caused suspicions and fear of the population as poisoners and “enemies of the people”. In Russian folklore, such plots prevail in which the doctor does not act as an assistant, but a pest and a stranger. “He who heals is to believe,” we read in Dalya's dictionary.
Not only in folklore, but also in literary tradition, doctors often perform in the Shutovsky and ridiculous light. In Russia, this attitude was exacerbated by the fact that the folding of the medical profession itself was associated in the public consciousness with foreigners and the memory of the “foreign” innovations of Peter the Great. The theatrical interludes of the XVIII century almost always emphasized the non -Russian origin of doctors. The situation was similar in the plays of the People’s Theater of the XVIII-XIX centuries: the doctor looks strange, understands poorly and speaks Russian and in the end there is a bit: because the doctor, and because the foreigner. ”
