However, it was worth rolling into the neighboring streets and passing several hundred meters, a completely different picture appeared before my eyes. As a reminder of the bloody Saturday night, only two powerful spotlights installed on the Bosphorus bridge connecting the European and Asian parts of the city. Istanbul serenity is deceiving. Arrests and detention are underway across the country. The head of the city of Mustafa Kaliscan gave the order without warning to knock down any “unidentified” helicopters in the airspace of Istanbul. Recep Erdogan gave an order according to which all F-16 fighters are in a state of combat readiness.

From other regions of the country, about 1800 special forces fighters were transferred to Istanbul to ensure additional safety measures on the streets and protect the most important objects.

In the middle of the day of Sunday, there was a shootout at the Airport of Istanbul Husim. As the official authorities reported, as a result of the special operation, eight generals were detained who tried to leave the country. The special operation was also carried out at the Air Force base in the city of Konya.

According to the Turkish authorities, the rebellion is completely suppressed. Yesterday, Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag said that about 6 thousand people were arrested, among them 2,700 judges, adding that the number of detainees would grow.

Among the detainees - the commander of the Air Force Akin, Oztyurk, whom three high -ranking officials called one of the possible organizers of the conspiracy, General Bekir Ercan Van, commander of the NATO “Indann” base in Adnan, as well as the chief military adviser to Erdogan Ali Yaziji.

By Monday, Monday also became known that about 8 thousand police officers were detained throughout the country, a large number of weapons were seized.

President Erdogan announced the need to return the death penalty. He is warmly supported by supporters, demanding reprisals against the rebels. (The death penalty in Turkey has not actually used since 1984. And in 2004, as part of the requirements established by the European Union, Türkiye officially banned the highest measure).
