An American musician was detained on Arbat for street performance

American citizen musician Alex Karlin was detained on the Arbat for a street concert. This was reported by OVD-Info Oleg Mokryakov. At the moment, Karlin is in OVD-Arbat.

Karlin, Mokryakov clarifies, is known for setting the Guinness record for the longest performance. He has been touring a lot in Russia in recent years.

UPD: Alex Karlin was released, he signed an explanatory note. The guitar was not taken from him, the police, he said, were polite, but "perhaps their bosses ordered them to detain me." The musician wondered if the detention was legal. He said that he had played on the Arbat many times already, the current detention was surprising for him. Police officers explained that one of the residents had complained.

According to Oleg Mokryakov, with whom Karlin spoke after leaving the police department, the American musician did not sign anything. “They wrote down my passport details and asked me what I was doing. I said that I played, and that was all, ”Mokryakov retells the words of Karlin.
