The Kremlin hopes that according to the results of the ongoing anti -doping investigation, the recommendations of the IOC adopted the day before to freeze the preparation of winter competitions in Russia will be canceled. This was stated by presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports .

Peskov emphasized that interaction and contacts with the IOC will continue. “Still, an investigation is being conducted,” said the Kremlin representative. “We hope that significant arguments will appear in favor of such decisions and recommendations can be canceled.”

Russia does not consider the option of the boycott of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, Peskov noted. “No, such a topic is not on the agenda,” Peskov said, answering the question of whether the Kremlin is considered such an opportunity in connection with the decisions of the International Olympic Committee and the World Anti -Doping Agency. Peskov recalled the statement of Vladimir Putin, in which the president noted "the absolute fallacy of such a boycotting, which, unfortunately, happened in history."

According to Peskov, the WADA information regarding the Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko is waiting in Moscow. There is no decision to resign the minister yet. “At the moment, the president has not been made by the president,” the press secretary said. “You know that the president personally makes decisions on one or another minister. Of course, if there is information regarding the Minister of Mutko, then this information awaits in Moscow.”

At the same time, Peskov emphasized that in the report of the head of the independent commission of WADA, Richard McLaren as the only source "appears only one fairly odious person who is quite compromised, who is suspected of involvement in doping fraud, and who, as you know, was in dense interaction with his sister, who was conditionally convicted." “Let's just say, the source is dubious, compromised, so it’s not clear to us at the moment, what else information is,” Peskov said.

On July 11, Peskov has already stated that Russia does not intend to boycott the Olympic Games in Brazil, despite all the vicissitudes associated with the involvement of Russian athletes in a doping scandal. According to him, "Russia has always condemned the idea of ​​boycotts."

On Tuesday, the International Olympic Committee recommended that all international sports federations not transfer the rights to organize competitions in winter sports to Russia until the issue of investigating the functioning of a doping system in the country is closed.

"Due to the detailed references to the manipulations with samples at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, the IOC asks for international federations of winter sports to suspend the preparation of major events in Russia, in particular the world championships, world championships and other major international competitions," the IOC statement said.

The IOC also said that they would not provide accreditation at the 2016 Olympics to any official of the Russian Ministry of Sports, as well as the WADA report. Thus, the restrictions of the IOC will affect Mutko.

The IOC intends to accept the decision to admit Russian athletes to the Olympics in the next weekend.
