The trial of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Akhtem Chiygoz in the framework of the "case of February 26" will continue on August 2.
“The court rejected the petitions of Lesovoy’s lawyer to dismiss the criminal case due to the lack of corpus delicti and to change the measure of restraint,” First Deputy Head of the Mejlis Nariman Dzhelal wrote about this on Facebook. The court decided to hold subsequent meetings via video link with Akhtem Chiygoz, allegedly because of the safety of the victims.
On July 20, a closed court session on the February 26 Case was held in Simferopol, at which it was decided to split the case into two different proceedings, and also extended the detention period until October 8 for three defendants Akhtem Chiygoz, Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendzhi.
