The FSB searched in the Moscow apartment of publicist Andrei Piontkovsky, who went abroad from persecution under the articles of the Criminal Code about extremism and separatism, as well as among the relatives of the emigrant. This was announced on his twitter by the lawyer of political emigrant Mark Feigin.

The security forces appeared in the apartment where the daughter and grandchildren of the publicist live in the morning on Saturday in the morning. They called the Ministry of Emergencies to break the door. However, Feigin came to the place earlier than the Ministry of Emergencies, and after his arrival, the grandson of the publicist let the security forces into his home.

The search was carried out without a court decision, the lawyer noted. Part 5 of Article 165 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, he continued, admits this only in exceptional cases. "What is the exclusivity?" - wrote Feigin.

In the afternoon, the search was held in an apartment where Piontkovsky himself lived before emigration. This search was carried out by the Decree of the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow of May 31. “Nobody notified me about the open court,” Feigin remarked.

Feigin also published a response dated on March 25 to his request signed by the deputy chief of a certain unit of the FSB S. Egorov. In it, the security forces assured that the case against Piontkovsky was not initiated. Meanwhile, the defender noted, in reality the case under Articles 280.1 (public calls for separatism) and 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred or hostility) opened the special service on March 9.

The 76-year-old Piontkovsky himself commented on what is happening “Radio Freedom”: “It is noteworthy that at 6 a.m. on Saturday people are breaking into the apartment. Apparently, this is the inherited style of our Chekists.”

The case against Piontkovsky was initiated for the publication of the article "Bomb, ready to explode." The text placed on January 23 on the site "Echo of Moscow" is dedicated to the Kadyrovskaya Chechnya. It ends with the words: "It is possible to stop the tiking watch mechanism of the Russian-Chechen catastrophe only in the immediate exit of Russia from the composition of Chechnya. The Chechen Republic must propose complete state independence with all legal consequences for our bilateral interstate relations."

After the release of the article on the publicist, a number of denunciations were filed. On January 25, the Chechnya parliament applied to the Prosecutor General and the TFR. The deputies asked to discover the case against Piontkovsky under articles 282 and 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremism), and the "echo" to be attracted by the law on the media. On January 27, 30 State Duma deputies, at the initiative of the unicorn Shamsaila Saraliev, filed another denunciation to the same structures, in which they demanded to check Piontkovsky and Echo for the presence of Article 280.1 in their actions.

Finally, on February 1, a certain lawyer Ilya Rembers appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office. On February 11, the deputy chief of the "anti -extremist" department of the department, Alexei Zhafyarov, notified the scammer that the prosecutors during the inspection indeed saw in the article of the Piontkovsky composition of articles 280.1 and 282 of the Criminal Code. The verification materials, Zhafyarov said, transferred to the FSB to initiate the case both against the author of the article and against Echo employees related to its publication.

Meanwhile, Piontkovsky on January 27, after the first denunciation, left Russia. The article on the website of the radio station almost immediately after the publication was promoted - the final phrases quoted above were removed from it.

On July 5, the FSB held a search as amended by the Echo of Moscow , taking her correspondence with Piontkovsky. The editor -in -chief of the Echo site Vitaly Ruvinsky visited the interrogation in the special service.

On July 14, it became known that the security forces requested a complete list of employees of the site of the radio station.

In 2007, the Basmanny Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office of Moscow demanded that Piontkovsky’s articles were recognized as extremist, originally published in the “faces”, and then published on paper in the collection “The Unloved Country”. The trial took about a year and a half. Finally, on December 5, 2008, the prosecutor’s office withdrew her lawsuit from the Basmann district court, after the examination announced the absence of extremism in the texts of the publicist.

Meanwhile, in August 2007, the court in Krasnodar recognized the prosecutor’s warning to the local branch of Yabloko for the distribution of the “unloved country” and another collection of Piontkovsky articles - “For the Motherland! For Abramovich!” Fire! ”. The warning was made on the basis of a linguistic examination, which was carried out by the FSB.
