The Turkish authorities released 1200 ordinary people, previously detained in the case of an attempt by a military coup on July 15-16. This was reported by AFP with reference to the chief prosecutor of Ankara Harun Kodalak.

Investigators, Kodalak noted, try to find out which of the soldiers during the couch opened fire on citizens as soon as possible, and who is not.

Earlier it was noted that out of 7400 military, detained in the case, many were conscripts who did not realize in the situation.

When suppressing the coup in Turkey, 104 of its participants were killed. More than 190 opponents of the putsch were also killed, and over 1,400 were injured.

After that, the Turkish authorities began large -scale purges. At least 45 thousand people were detained, fired or removed from work. Among them are military, police, judges, prosecutors, as well as professors and journalists suspected of insufficient loyalty to the leadership of Turkey. Turkish scientists are forbidden to leave the country.

It was reported that among the detainees 103 generals and admiral. At least several dozen of them were arrested at the beginning of the week .

Eight participants of the putsch in the titles from the foreman to the major after the failure of the performance flew by helicopter to Greece and asked for political asylum there. Greek authorities have already begun consideration of their petitions. Meanwhile, Türkiye insists on issuing fugitives.

On Tuesday, it was reported that after the coup, the location of 14 ships of the Navy of the country remains unknown . It was also noted that still there is no information about the fate of the fleet commander Admiral Weissel Kösele. Initially, it was argued that the putschists took it hostage. Later, however, it was suggested that Kösele and the commanders of the disappeared ships participated in the conspiracy, and now they are hiding.

On July 20, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan introduced a state of emergency in the country for a period of three months. The next day, the Great National Assembly - the Turkish parliament - approved this decision in 346 votes against 115.
