On the eve of the IOC announced the results of the second wave of the resource using the latest methods. Doping fighters identified 30 "unfavorable" samples of Olympians eight years ago and another 15 -four years old.

Thus, the total number of athletes, the samples of which gave a positive result for prohibited substances from the first and second waves of realizes, increased to 98.

"New rechecks once again indicate the commitment of the IOC to fight against doping," said the President of the organization Thomas Bach. The third and fourth waves are expected to follow at the end of the 2016 Olympic Games Rio.

In the first two waves of total, 1243 doping tests were selected and double-checked.

Recall that in the first wave of the recall, 30 athletes (of which are 14 Russians) who took part in the Games in Beijing, as well as 23 athletes (of which eight from the Russian Federation) who fought for the medal in London-2012.

The IOC noted that for legal reasons, he cannot currently give more detailed information about the names of violators. This will be done in the prescribed manner. The guilty athletes and their national committees will be officially informed, after which there will be a move according to the current regulations.
