Russian military and civilian aircraft 10 times over the past month without coordination with Bulgaria were part of the zone of responsibility of the air forces of this country. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria Nikolai Nenchev, reports Nova TV.
According to Nenchev, significant resources are spent in each such case, since the Bulgarian Air Force lifts fighters into the air.
"The penetration of Russian aircraft in the zone of our responsibility is a provocation with a vague goal," the minister said. At the same time, Nenchev admitted that some incidents are associated with misunderstandings in the organization of the air movement.
In May, the Minister of Defense of Estonia Hannes Hanso said that Ossi military aircraft regularly violate the country's airspace . He called it "extremely reckless behavior."
“They violate our airspace quite regularly. They fly through the Baltic Sea with turned off the transponders,” Hanso said. “This is very unreasonable and this can cause an accident. Imagine the clashes of a Russian aircraft with civilian things. Normal countries do not do such things. This is just to provoke and give us an unacceptable one.”
If a military radar can detect the plane even when its transponders are turned off, then the radar intended for civilian aircraft cannot do this, the minister noted.
