During the fighting in the south-east of Ukraine on July 23, six Ukrainian servicemen were killed. This was stated by the representative of the presidential administration of Ukraine Alexander Motuzyanyk.
13 soldiers were injured, eight were shell-shocked.
According to Motuzyanyk, three clashes and 15 shellings took place during the day. In particular, in the Popasnyansky district of the Luhansk region, the separatists launched a direct attack on Ukrainian positions under the cover of mortar fire, he said.
Representatives of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic, in turn, announced 10 shelling of their positions by the "Kyiv security forces", including using tanks.
In the Donetsk People's Republic, they reported the destruction of several Ukrainian reconnaissance groups.
