The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has published the criteria by which Russian athletes will be able to take part in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The participation of an athlete in the Games requires the approval of the international federation for the relevant sport. To do this, the federations will have to analyze the history of doping tests for each member of the Russian team, taking into account only "credible international tests."
Those who are allowed by the international sports federations to participate in the Olympics will have to pass additional doping tests out of competition.
Athletes who have once been found guilty of doping, as well as those involved in the violations described in a recent report by an independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency, will not be allowed to participate in the Olympics.
