According to Interfax with reference to the Hürriyet newspaper, the orders were issued as part of the "investigation of the activity of the Fethullatist terrorist organization."
The Turkish authorities believe that behind the military rebellion there is an opposition preacher Fethullah Gulen living in the United States and achieve his extradition from Washington. Gulen himself rejects these accusations.
The licenses have been revoked in television and broadcasting companies related to the opposition, it was decided to close more than 1,600 educational institutions related to Gulen's activities.
On the night of July 15 to July 16, a military group attempted to overthrow Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. When suppressing an armed performance, 312 people were killed, 1440 were injured. On suspicion of involvement in the rebellion, about 13 thousand people were detained.
