Apple sold its billionth iPhone

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the company sold its 1 billionth iPhone last week.

The fact that sales of Apple smartphones are about to reach a billion copies was reported by the Financial Times on July 24. The publication reported that 40 million iPhones will be announced in the third quarter of the fiscal year (a report published later says 40.399 million), and the number of iPhones sold will reach 987 million by the end of June. With sales averaging 13 million units per month, the one billionth iPhone was due to be sold in the last week of July, the publication wrote.
