The Moscow City Branch of the All -Russian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture (MGO VOOPIIK) sent a letter to President Vladimir Putin and a resolution of public hearings to preserve the manor park of Kuskovo and the Church of the Assumption in Veshnyaks.

Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich!

Despite your numerous requirements and special instructions for the preservation of cultural heritage, in Moscow, for the construction of a six -lane road, barbaric destruction of the masterpiece of the Russian and world culture of the Kuskovo Manor Park is taking place. On the verge of destruction is a unique monument of architecture of the XVII century. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Veshnyaks. The illegal cutting of the monument of garden and park art monument symbolically began at 6 a.m. on June 22, 2016 and continues to this day, without a warrant, without properly executed documents. The city authorities ignore 139 thousand signatures of citizens against cutting Kuskovo. The Moscow City Branch Vopiyik asks you to intervene in the situation and stop illegal cutting down and construction work, save from destruction of the object of cultural heritage of regional significance “Manor Kuskovo” and the object of the federal significance “The Church of the Assumption of 1644”, and order the investigation of illegal actions and bring the responsibility of their committing persons to the liability of their persons. We attach a resolution of the hearings with a description of the identified violations of the law and the collected signatures in defense of the manor park Kuskovo.
