Artists from the Sever-7 group covered the genitals of a copy of the statue of David installed in St. Petersburg with a cap. A plastic copy of the sculpture is located at the Lutheran Church of St. Anna on Kirochnaya Street. The cap was attached to it with paper tape.
Earlier, a Petersburger Inna Lvovna complained about the sculpture - she demanded to cover David's nakedness. “How could you put this peasant without trousers in the center of St. Petersburg, near the school and the church? This giant spoils the historical appearance of the city and disfigures children's souls!” Inna Lvovna was indignant.
After her statements, the organizers of the exhibition “Michelangelo. The Creation of the World”, which takes place in the building of the Lutheran church, announced the “Dress of David” action: the townspeople were invited to send their ideas on what to dress the statue in. The action has not yet ended, representatives of the North-7 group decided to act proactively.
