Residents of St. Petersburg will ask whether to wear a statue of David

The organizers of the exhibition in St. Petersburg established a copy of the famous statue of David Michelangelo at the church of St. Anna on the street. Kirochny.

Local residents complained to the city children's ombudsman that the statue "spoils the historical appearance of the city and disfigures children's souls."

“We did not receive any complaints, we learned about this from journalists. But we decided not to leave criticism and launch the action in order to find out the opinion of the townspeople whether we should wear David or leave it as it is, ”the representative of the exhibition told RIA Novosti.

The organizers decided to hold the “Downs David” campaign, in which residents of the city will decide to wear a statue or not. If they vote against clothes, the statue will remain naked.

If not, then David will be dressed in a suit in a festive atmosphere on August 30. In addition, residents of the city can send sketches of a suit, which will be selected by open voting on social networks.

Also, the organizers of the multimedia exhibition intend to find out the opinion of artists and art historians.
