
Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the day of the Russian Navy, went aboard the restored cruiser Aurora, moored in St. Petersburg, Interfax reports.
The head of state and the Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation accepted the report of the ship commander, over which the presidential standard was raised. Vladimir Putin greeted the cruiser's team.
On board Aurora, the president got acquainted with the layout of the new buildings of the Nakhimovsky Naval School and supported the proposal to make the Vladivostok presidential cadet school its branch, Life reports.
It is expected that on board the boat, lowered from Aurora, Vladimir Putin will go around the system of warships, and then perform on Senate Square at the holiday in honor of the Navy Day.
