
The National Media Group Holding (NMG) redeemed 11% of the shares of OJSC Izvestia, increasing its share to 98.32%. After the redemption of the remaining shares from the minorityans, the NMG will complete the 100 percent consolidation of the asset.
In accordance with the legislation, the NMG will put up an offer for the purchase of shares remaining at the minority orientation and will reach the final stage of the assumption of the asset, which involves the possession of 100% of the shares, as well as the management and independent publication of the Izvestia newspaper, Interfax reports with reference to the NMG message.
From August 1, the rights to the newspaper’s publication transfer to OJSC Gazeta Izvestia. The agreement with Ainyus LLC Aram Gabrelevanov, which issued Izvestia since 2011 , stopped July 31. The Izvestia editors will continue to lead Arseniy Oganesyan, appointed by the editor -in -chief on February 1.
The NMG was created on the basis of the media assets of the Russian Bank "Russia" Yuri Kovalchuk, Alexei Mordashov and the Sogaz group. The holding owns the REN TV channel (82%), the television and radio company “Petersburg-Fifth channel” (72.4%), shares in OJSC “First Canal” (25%), the newspaper Sport-Express (25%), the Russian News Service Radio (100%), the manufacturer of the content of Art Pictors Vizhn (50%), the publication Metro-Petersburg, as well as the company Media Alliance ( Discovery, Eurosport, Turner ) and Russian channels Viasat (80%).
The Izvestia newspaper has been published since 1917. The publication is distributed in all cities of Russia, as well as neighboring countries. The circulation of the newspaper exceeds 150 thousand copies, the audience of one number is 309 thousand readers.
