Putin pardoned two convicts

President Vladimir Putin pardoned two convicts - 38-year-old Viktor Kudryavtsev and 40-year-old Alexei Kazamkin . The relevant decrees were published on the official legal information portal.

The documents are dated July 30 but were only released today.

In February 2013, Viktor Kudryavtsev was sentenced to three years in a penal colony by the Zelenogradsky District Court of the Kaliningrad Region. Kudryavtsev was found guilty of violating traffic rules, which negligently resulted in the infliction of grievous harm to human health and the death of two people (Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code). According to the court's website, in August 2011, a man got into an accident in his BMW car near the village of Kostrovo as a result of an attempt to overtake and a collision with a KAMAZ. The accident killed a 30-year-old BMW passenger and Kudryavtsev’s eight-year-old child. Another of the man's children was injured but survived. During the investigation, Kudryavtsev admitted guilt.

The second pardoned person, Alexey Kazamkin, was sentenced to one and a half years in a general regime colony in October last year by the Nizhnevartovsk District Court of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. He was found guilty under paragraph “h” of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm dangerous to human life using an object used as a weapon). Kazamkin himself also admitted his guilt.

According to the verdict , on the night of August 30, 2015, Kazamkin quarreled with a certain N.D.Yu. on the ancestral lands “V-32” in the Nizhnevartovsk region. During the quarrel, Kazamkin hit his opponent with a knife in the chest area, as a result of which he damaged his right lung. The court took into account that the accused had a dependent young child, and Kazamkin also paid the victim 80 thousand rubles as compensation for moral damage.
