The Russian team will be able to participate in the Olympics on certain conditions, announced the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach. At a press conference on August 31, he explained that the three-stage verification procedure approved by the IOC Executive Committee. This procedure will have to go through all Russian athletes claiming to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio.

At the first stage, according to Bach, athletes are waiting for a filter of international federations that can confirm international tests of each athlete. The second filter was the decision not to include in the athletes that have ever violated the anti-doping rules, even if they have already left their disqualification. And, finally, the third stage necessary for admission to the games will be a decision of the IOC based on the opinions of independent experts and the sports arbitration court (CAS).

As the head of the IOC explained, the organization’s executive committee decided to delegate the right to accept the decision of a group of three people, which are part of the executive committee, led by the head of the Medical Commission of the IOC Ugur Erdener. In addition, the head of the IOC on behalf of the committee brought gratitude to the informant of the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) Julia Stepanova for help in the fight against doping and said that this runner could continue the professional sports career.

Thomas Bach said that the independent IOC commission for the admission of Russian athletes for the Olympic Games has already begun work. She was instructed to once again study the affairs of all Russians who received from international sports federations tolerance to participation in games, for compliance with the criteria of the IOC. Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on August 1 abolished the press conference planned for August 4 before the start of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. And it seems to me that there is some incredible lack of a habit of public correct actions in this. When a disqualified weightlifter [Alexey] Lovchev, against the backdrop of the entire doping scandal, is appointed adviser to the sport of the governor of the Vladimir region - well, how can it be?! Well, or when a person who gives revealing evidence is suddenly declared a state criminal and becomes a suspect. Well, it's just comical! It looks like people, at least minimally pondering what is happening, is simply ridiculous. And I absolutely do not understand why this is being done.

Because the “internal consumer” and so more or less believes that “we are in the ring of enemies”, that “they slander us” - that's all. And the consumer is external, it seems to me that he simply laughs at this homerically, ”the journalist explained.
