The head of the IOC Thomas Bach. Twitter.comThe Russian team will be able to participate in the Olympics on certain conditions, announced the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach. At a press conference on August 31, he explained that the three-stage verification procedure approved by the IOC Executive Committee. This procedure will have to go through all Russian athletes claiming to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio.
At the first stage, according to Bach, athletes are waiting for a filter of international federations that can confirm international tests of each athlete. The second filter was the decision not to include in the athletes that have ever violated the anti-doping rules, even if they have already left their disqualification. And, finally, the third stage necessary for admission to the games will be a decision of the IOC based on the opinions of independent experts and the sports arbitration court (CAS).
As the head of the IOC explained, the organization’s executive committee decided to delegate the right to accept the decision of a group of three people, which are part of the executive committee, led by the head of the Medical Commission of the IOC Ugur Erdener. In addition, the head of the IOC on behalf of the committee brought gratitude to the informant of the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) Julia Stepanova for help in the fight against doping and said that this runner could continue the professional sports career.
Thomas Bach said that the independent IOC commission for the admission of Russian athletes for the Olympic Games has already begun work. She was instructed to once again study the affairs of all Russians who received from international sports federations tolerance to participation in games, for compliance with the criteria of the IOC. The decision should be made until August 5 - the day of the opening of the Olympics.
Nikita BelogolovtsevAccording to Nikita Belogolovtsev, a sports journalist, it is quite obvious that the decision on the fundamental admission of Russia to the Olympics, which the IOC issued, did not become an achievement, the victory of Russia, but became only a decent form for an unpleasant essence.
“Well, what can I say? In general, everything is clear. For Russian athletes, a system of difficulties and a maritime is created. It is clear that the decision on the admission to which we all rejoiced, of course, no our victory, but at best - a kind of worthy surrender. When initially the same [president of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander] Zhukov, if I am not mistaken, said that we would not read 8-10 athletes, it was already clear that this was not so.
Now the situation is less difficult. Not absolutely all Russian athletes were banned, but so many, ”he explained.
Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on August 1 abolished the press conference planned for August 4 before the start of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. President Vada Craig Reid, the new general director of the agency Olivier Nigly and the chairman of the group of independent observers at the Olympic Games, Jonathan Taylor, should take part in it. As explained on the organization’s website , the event was canceled from fears that too many questions about Russia will be asked journalists.
We add that the theme of informants, “traitors” and the like in connection with the Olympics in Russia itself are still attracted to a lot of attention. Thus, the State Duma chairman Sergei Naryshkin said that the WADA informant, the former head of the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory, Grigory Rodchenkov, is a criminal who needs to be judged, and his testimony should not be believed without evidence.
The speaker called the doping scandal “a provocation against Russian sport” and emphasized that Mr. Rodchenkov’s testimony, in essence of the criminal, were based on everything, because he himself publicly stated that he gave doping athletes. ” “He is a criminal, he must be judged first. And on his stories the whole charge was built, without any evidence, ”Naryshkin emphasized.
Belogolovtsev considers such statements inappropriate and unnecessary.
“If we talk about the statement of Sergei Naryshkin regarding Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov, it is very difficult to comment on such things. Because each time you try to come up with some new words, and they are not invented, because everything is so obvious that even a little funny.
This person worked for you. This person was one of the leading experts, because he is indeed, as colleagues admit, an excellent chemist, an extraordinary chemist. This man during his work in Russia was under criminal prosecution for some time. A man who, apparently, was quite extravagant from this criminal prosecution. The person whose sister was conditionally convicted of the spread of doping. And nothing but a smile and facepalm, the current accusations against him can be called.
You had years in order to initiate criminal cases against a person, if it seems to you that he is guilty of something. You had years in order to remove it from work. At the same time, his fault is mentioned exclusively after he left the country and began to give heavy and dangerous testimonies for Russia. So I would say that these accusations are not only sewing with white threads - they are sewn with white threads over white threads!
And it seems to me that there is some incredible lack of a habit of public correct actions in this. When a disqualified weightlifter [Alexey] Lovchev, against the backdrop of the entire doping scandal, is appointed adviser to the sport of the governor of the Vladimir region - well, how can it be?! Well, or when a person who gives revealing evidence is suddenly declared a state criminal and becomes a suspect. Well, it's just comical! It looks like people, at least minimally pondering what is happening, is simply ridiculous. And I absolutely do not understand why this is being done.
Because the “internal consumer” and so more or less believes that “we are in the ring of enemies”, that “they slander us” - that's all. And the consumer is external, it seems to me that he simply laughs at this homerically, ”the journalist explained.
About speaking of the changed attitude to Daria Klisina, who had recently been reproached for “betrayal” due to the fact that she had trained abroad for a long time and was not involved in a doping scandal, and now she began to be considered “her own”, Belogolovtsev noted that the athlete was lucky in many respects.
Daria Klimina / vk.com“Well, what about Daria Klina? Daria Kerina is a pretty girl, she signed a good, profitable contract, because she see a large marketing potential. She left for the States on time. In general, she was lucky with her appearance, lucky with talents, although she still did not win anything big. God will give, win now. Those who make such a successful escape from the Russian sports system are really lucky.
Dasha was lucky - she did not host the politics of the Russian sports authorities. Other, unfortunately, was less fortunate, ”the expert concluded.
