The Paralympic champion intends to go to euthanasia after games in Rio de Janeiro

The Paralympic champion from Belgium, Marik Vervurt, said that the games in Rio would be the completion of her career. A partially paralyzed athlete is going to not only finish performances, but also say goodbye to life. She intends to seek permission to euthanasia. In Belgium, voluntary departure is legalized.

Speaking about her chances of Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the 37-year-old athlete noted that the competition is very high, and she will have strong rivals. According to Vervurt, it will be very difficult to win a medal this time, but she is ready to make every effort to finish her career on the pedestal. “Rio is my last desire. I train a lot and will continue, even if I have to fight my illness day and night,” Belgica said.

The athlete admitted that every year training is given to her more and more difficult for her. According to her, the body begins to refuse, and it is very difficult to come to terms with the fact that some things are inaccessible. “Everyone sees me smiling and with a gold medal, but no one sees the back of all this,” she says.

According to the athlete, for her the moment comes when it is necessary to complete her career, which has become the only meaning of life for her.
