The trial of Akhtem Chiygoz will continue on August 9

On August 2, a regular court session on the “Case of February 26” was held over the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, Akhtem Chiygoz, who took part in the process via video link. According to lawyer Nikolai Polozov, Chiygoz's request for personal presence was rejected, and this decision will be appealed. The court adjourned the hearing several times to fix technical problems with the video link.

The next meeting will be held on August 9 at 10 am.

The court refused to satisfy almost all of the defense's motions: for admission to the hall of listeners and the media, for an audio recording of the meeting, for the suspension of the process until the appeal was considered, for the admission of Chiygoz to the courtroom.

On August 3, at 10 am, a hearing will be held on the appeal against the extension of the arrest of Akhtem Chiygoz.
