
115 years ago, on August 3, 1901, Stefan Vysoshinsky, the Polish Cardinal, the Archbishop-Metropolitan of Warsaw-Gneeszsky, Primas Polish from 1948 until his death in 1981 was born.
In 1953-1956 he was kept by communist authorities under house arrest.
During the strikes of 1980, he acted as an intermediary in negotiations between the authorities and the union "Solidarity".
