Her residence permit was canceled on the basis of a certificate from the FSB, which stated that she "advocated the forcible change of the foundations of the constitutional order." At the same time, officials did not give detailed explanations to Mrs. Gaspard. The Russian authorities have already transmitted their objections to her complaint. In a letter from the Russian Commissioner to the ECtHR, Deputy Minister of Justice Georgy Matyushkin, it is reported that “the balance between national security and the inviolability of the applicant’s family life” was observed by the Russian courts.
