
In the Stavropol Territory, on Sunday night, an accident occurred with numerous victims: nine people died on the highway "Caucasus" during a frontal collision of two cars. The course of the investigation for special control was taken by the regional prosecutor's office, Interfax reports.
About 1:00 Moscow time. Sunday, the driver of the Lada 217030 car on the Caucasus highway collided in the oncoming lane with the Ford Scorpio car. As a result of the car accident, 8 people died at the scene, another - a 21 -year -old passenger, died in the hospital.
"The case was opened under Part 5 of Article 264 (violation of traffic rules, which entailed by negligence of the death of more than two persons) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The establishment of all the circumstances of the incident and the course of the investigation is under special control in the Prosecutor's Office of the Stavropol Territory," said the representative of the press service of the supervisory authority.
Presumably, the cause of the frontal clash was the exit to the oncoming lane of the Lada Priora car, which was ruled by a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia.
