The UN Security Council will hold a closed meeting in connection with the skirmishes in the Crimea, Reuters reported, citing sources in diplomatic circles. The meeting will take place on 11 August.

- The FSB of Russia claims that on the night of the seventh and eighth of August, skirmishes took place at the border in Crimea with Ukrainian groups of saboteurs. In Ukraine, they say that the FSB and the Russian army fired at each other .
- According to the FSB, a Ukrainian “intelligence network” was discovered in Crimea. Several people have been detained. The FSB gave the name of one of them - Yevgeny Panov. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Andrey Zakhtey was also detained. From the reports of the departments it is not clear whether they were part of groups of saboteurs, or whether they were members of the “intelligence network”.
