Russian epee fencers won bronze at the team competition in Rio
Russian fencers Tatyana Logunova, Lyubov Shutova, Violetta Kolobova and Olga Kochneva won bronze in the team epee competition at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
In the match for third place, they defeated the Estonian team with a score of 31-37. Athletes from Romania and China came out in the final.
At the time of writing, five out of 17 Russian medals at the 2016 Olympics were won by fencers. Foil fencer Inna Deriglazova won the gold medal, foil fencer Timur Safin won the bronze medal, and saber fencers Yane Egoryan and Sofia Velikaya met in the final, winning gold and silver respectively.
