The police detained the candidate for the Moscow Regional Duma Evgeny Kurakin

In the Reutovo near Moscow, a candidate for deputies of the Moscow Regional Duma from Yabloko Evgeny Kurakin was detained, the party’s press service reports.

For no explanation, Kurakin was detained on the way to the meeting of the residents of Reutov with the governor of the region Andrei Vorobyov.

Kurakin himself told New Izvestia that during the detention the police broke their clothes.

The party indicated that "by law, a candidate for deputies cannot be detained without the sanction of the prosecutor."

Kurakin’s lawyer Dmitry Sotnikov said that at a meeting with the Governor of the Moscow Region, Konstantin Vorobyov, the question was asked about the detention of Kurakin. “The police chief replied that Zhenya had a drive. He was waiting for the district police officer at the entrance, but Zhenya was resisted and was detained,” Sotnikov said.

Kurakin explained that he was “a drive” in the case of his own beating, where he is the victim.

Evgeny Kurakin is running for the Reutovsky single -mandate district, and also heads the regional group of the party list. It is known as the author of several anti -corruption investigations.
