Four more sets of medals played in the academic rowing

New Zealander Mayich Dresdale won the gold medal of the Olympic Games in the academic rowing alone. The winner time was 6 minutes 41.34 seconds. Silver went to Croat Damir Martin (6.41.34). The third place was taken by the Czech of the Ondrzhi Sonk (6.44,10).

Later, Australian Kimberly Brennan won in a similar discipline in women, showing the time 7 minutes 21.54 seconds. The second was finished by the American Jenaevre Stone (7.22.92). The bronze award was earned by the Chinese woman Duan Jinley (7.24,13).

Then the US women's team in the academic rowing became the best eight in the competition with steering. In the final, she showed the result of 6 minutes 01.49 seconds. The British (6.03.98), bronze by representatives of Romania (6.04.10) won silver.

In men, the UK team won the eight competitions, showing the fastest time in the decisive arrival - 5 minutes 29.63 seconds. The Germans (5.30.96), bronze - representatives of the Netherlands (5.31.59) went to silver.

The only Russian crew, admitted to the games in the academic rowing, performed in the competitions of men's four without a steering one. The quartet, consisting of Artem Kosov, Anton Zarutsky, Vladislav Ryabtsev and Nikita Morgachev, took the final tenth place.

Initially, Russian rowers won Olympic licenses in five classes of boats, but the International Rowing Federation and the IOC Commission allowed only six Russian rowers from the previously declared 26, as well as two steering ones. As a result, the team coaches had to form the only crew from the athletes allowed, and gave the other quotas Fisa to other countries.
