Washington and Ankara will discuss the issuance of Gulen Turkey

The delegation of American officials will arrive in Ankara to help the Turkish authorities prepare an official request for the extradition of the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen, who is suspected of organizing a rebellion in Turkey. This was reported by the publication by Hurriyet Daily with reference to the head of the Turkish Ministry of Justice Bekir Bozdag.

“Officials from the US Ministry of Justice sent me a letter in which they expressed a desire to send a delegation of specialists to Turkey and said that if the delegation wanted to send the Turkish authorities, then they would accept it. They said they want to talk about it, ”the minister said.

According to Bozdag, the United States agreed to send four specialists to Turkey on August 22 - three people from the Ministry of Justice and one of the State Department. They will meet with their Turkish colleagues on August 23 and 24, the minister added.

According to Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Chavushoglu, the intention to come to Turkey was also expressed by US Secretary of State John Kerry and vice president Joe Bayden. Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yyldyrym said Biden would come to Turkey on August 24.

According to Ankara, the Turkish oppositionist Fethullah Gulen, living in the United States, is behind the attempt of a military coup in Turkey, which occurred on the night of July 16. He himself denies his involvement in the organization of the rebellion.

Earlier, the Turkish authorities called for Washington to deport Gulen. Kerry promised to listen to their words, but the preacher was never deported. On August 4, the court in Turkey arrested Gulen in absentia.

On August 12, Gulen said that he is obliged to return to Turkey, “if at least one tenth of the charges” will be proved against him.
