Four disabled children from a boarding school in the Irkutsk region died of intestinal infection

The fourth pupil of the Cheremkhovsky neuropsychiatric boarding school, hospitalized with intestinal infection, has died in the Irkutsk Regional Infectious Department for the Infectious Destaker. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Ministry of Health of the region.

The head of the department, Oleg Yaroshenko, says on the website of the regional administration, called the death of a four -year -old girl a heavy acute liver failure.

A boarding school in the city of Cheremkhovo is the only institution in Russia for bedridden children with disabilities. As Baikal-Info transmitted , the boarding school opened in early January. 56 children aged 3 to 14 years were placed there. All pupils have serious innate pathologies; Most have severe mental retardation.

The intestinal infection epidemic began in a boarding school on July 24. According to Yaroshenko, there are 27 pupils of the institution in the regional infectious diseases hospital. Five of them, said Oleg Sagalai, official representative of the Ministry of Health of Russia, are placed in intensive care.

The official added that mild signs of intestinal infection were found in three more children in a boarding school. It was also decided to transfer them to the regional hospital.

The first patient, a girl of 8 years old, died on August 5 from an infectious-toxic shock caused by dysentery. Two more pupils, 6 and 5 years, died, respectively, on the 11th and 12th.

On August 10, the regional head of the Rospotrebnadzor accused the administration of the institution of the epidemic. He pointed out the untimely conduct of a full complex of anti -epidemic measures in the boarding school, taking children without a bacteriological examination, as well as a violation of drinking and disinfectant regimes.

The regional head of the Investigative Committee, as of Friday, opened four criminal cases on the facts of the epidemic and death of children. Three of them are qualified under part 2 of Article 109 (causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties), which provides for up to three years of the colony, the fourth - in part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code (negligence), the sanction of which is up to a year of service.

The director of the boarding school Natalya Pulatova was removed from office. The dismissal of the head physician of the institution was reported. Meanwhile, such a position is not provided for in the structure of the boarding school. It can be assumed that we are talking about the head of the department of social services Elena Mashchenko or the head of the department of mercy Margarita Seliverstova.
