The Perm-36 Center is liquidated

The Autonomous Non-profit organization Memorial Center for the History of Political Repressions Perm-36 completed the liquidation procedure. This is reported by Kommersant-Prikamye. On August 10, the corresponding entry was entered into the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. After that, Perm-36 was expelled from the List of Foreign Agents.

The founder of Perm-36, Viktor Shmyrov, said that now instead of the Museum of Political Repressions it is supposed to launch an Internet project. As for the events organized by the museum, they will be carried out abroad. So, the seminar "Summer School of Museology" will be held in one of the memorial museums of Albania, and the Pilorama forum in the Netherlands.

The Perm-36 Museum began work in 1996 at the site of the colony in the village of Kuchino of the Chusovsky district. The camp, later transformed into a colony VS-389/36, was opened here in 1946. In the 1970s, political prisoners began to be sent here. Here, the deadlines were serving, in particular, Vladimir Bukovsky, Sergey Kovalev, Yuri Orlov, Valery Marchenko, Nathan Scheransky, Gleb Yakunin, Levko Lukyanenko, Evgeny Sverstyuk, Balis Gauskas. In September 1985, the outstanding Ukrainian poet Vasil Stus died here. In 1988, the colony was closed.

In 2004, the Fund of World Monuments included the Perm-36 museum in the list of 100 specially protected monuments of world culture. Later, the procedure for including the object in the UNESCO World Heritage List began.

Meanwhile, since 2012, the regional authorities have completely stopped financing the museum’s restoration and restoration work, to promote it to the World Heritage List, to work on the Perm-36 Development Program, which is necessary to give the object the status of the museum and memorial center of national significance.

In 2014, the authorities of the region formed a state institution "Memorial complex of victims of political repression." This structure occupied the territory of the museum and seized its property . ANO was deprived of control of the object.

Then the destruction of the museum began. The historical gates of the former colony were sawn into scrap metal; Authentic wooden structures were also destroyed.

At the end of August 2014, a certain citizen submitted a denunciation to the CPE demanding to attract Perm-36 employees under article 354.1 of the Criminal Code (rehabilitation of Nazism). The denunciation was written after a demonstration on NTV dedicated to the museum of the film "Fifth Column". The case was refused the initiation on the basis that Article 354.1 entered into force of the show of this film.

In March 2015, the Perm-36 center announced that he was starting self-destruction . Meanwhile, in April of the same year , the organization was included in the register of "agents" . In July, the center and its former director Tatyana Kursen was fined for refusing to register NPOs as an “agent” for 300 and 100 thousand rubles, respectively. In September 2015, the court of second instance left a decision on fines in force .
