
According to Nikolai Grushi , the former deputy general director of the Oyeyai-Sosna Institute, agreeing with the decision of Belarus to replace the BelESP reactor, Rosatom demonstrated the priority of safety issues and understanding the role of public acceptability of nuclear energy. The pear hopes that with the replacement of the reactor body, Lithuania will have less reason to blame Belarus and Rosata.
Recall that at the request of the Belarusian side by Rosatom, Rosatom decided to replace the case of the reactor of the first block of the Belarusian nuclear power plant under construction. With the corresponding request, the Belarusian customer addressed the torn earlier after a series of publications in the Lithuanian and Belarusian media, which claimed that the reactor corps was damaged in the fall.
“We will comply with this requirement of the customer, it was expected for us. We have already stated that we will be respected with such a decision, realizing why it can be made, because the public acceptability of atomic energy is an equally important priority than its safety. We will discuss with the customer the details related to its implementation, ”Rosatom said.
