Billionaire Prigozhin refused claims against Yandex

At the end of May, Prigozhin filed 15 claims to the Kuibyshevsky District Court of Petersburg against Yandex in connection with the "Law on oblivion". As the representative of the defendant explained, the reason was the refusal of the company to delete links to texts about the businessman from the search results. Among them, as it became known during one of the meetings, there were articles where Prigozhin’s name was mentioned in conjunction with the so -called “troll factory” from St. Petersburg.

The name of the billionaire was also mentioned in connection with the scandal that occurred presumably with his motorcade that the police pursued.

Prigozhin is the owner of the Concord company, which owns a number of restaurants in St. Petersburg and Moscow, including in the Government House. The company regularly wins contests for providing school meals and holding government banquets and events. Prigozhin personally served the dinners and dinners of Vladimir Putin with world leaders in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

On July 14, 2015, Putin signed the law on the “right to oblivion” , which entered into force on January 1. The document obliges Internet search engines to delete, according to the requirements of citizens from the results of the issuance of "false", "distributed in violation of legislation" and "irrelevant" information about applicants. Even before the adoption of the law of the Internet company, including Yandex, made its sharp criticism . It was noted that the constitutional right of citizens to search, access and obtaining information will be violated, and access to a large array of socially significant information may be difficult. This will create favorable soil for numerous abuses, the critics of the document warned.
