Well-known LGBT activist Reida Lynn and Sofia Grozovskaya left Russia and asked for political asylum in France. Lynn announced this on August 17 on her Facebook page.
I believe that in such situations the best thing is to leave the drunk, the abuser or the fatherland alone, and not engage in masochism... It is possible that over time, having established my own life, I will find a way to do something good for Russia
Reida Lynn writes that he left due to fears of the upcoming September elections and emotional burnout: “You may say that I am exaggerating, but I swear I can’t take it anymore. Neither watching the elections, nor going out with a poster, nor even trying to distance myself from what is happening... no matter what I do, I will still have the feeling that I am being raped.”
The last time Reida Lynn and several other activists were detained was at a May Day march in Moscow for wearing rainbow symbols.
