Google Duo video messenger has surpassed Pokemon Go in popularity on American Google Play

Earlier this week, Google officially released Google Duo, a mobile app designed for making video calls. In just a few days, the program gained significant popularity among users.

According to Phone Arena , in just a few days, the new video messenger topped the ranking of free programs in the American version of the Google Play store, ahead of Facebook Messenger and the super-popular game Pokemon Go.

The resource notes that the new Google application also received very high ratings from users. However, to gain real popularity, the program needs to convert potential users who download Duo into permanent ones.

Let us remind you that the Duo application was announced in May of this year. The program supports end-to-end encryption and is simple, and one of its main features is the ability to see the caller in real time before receiving the call.

In addition, the program is able to work even in conditions of an unstable or slow Internet connection (in this case, the image quality is automatically reduced) and can automatically switch between Wi-Fi and mobile Internet without dropping the call.
